FAQ

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching and therapy are both forms of helping others but have different goals and approaches. Coaching typically focuses on assisting people to achieve specific goals and developing certain skills, such as mindset and emotional capacities for improving relationships, careers, self-care, communication, and self-leadership.

In comparison, therapy focuses on treating mental and emotional issues, such as depression, mental disorders, and specific types of anxiety and psychological conditions. Coaching tends to be more action-oriented, direct, present, and future-focused, while therapy focuses more on exploring past experiences and emotions.

Can life coaching be done online, or do I need to meet with a coach in person?

As a coach, I understand the importance of flexibility and accessibility in the coaching process. That’s why I offer sessions through various virtual platforms such as Zoom and FaceTime, allowing you to work with me from the comfort of your home or wherever you may be.

I also offer phone coaching for clients who prefer a more traditional approach. Throughout my years of experience, I have found that virtual coaching provides convenience and efficiency and maintains the level of connection and interaction that is crucial in the coaching journey.

What is your cancellation policy? How do I cancel a session if I need to do so?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy that ensures all my clients can reschedule or cancel their appointments with enough notice. If clients need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, they must do so at least 24 hours before the scheduled session.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours in advance will result in a full session fee charge. This policy allows me to serve all clients better and ensure that I can fill appointments on time. Please send an email to: connect@roxannadraddy.com.

How can I tell if coaching is right for me?

Here are a few factors to consider when deciding if coaching is right for you. And I would add that the most critical factor is if you feel like you can connect to your coach and there’s trust. The coach and client relationship requires a connection, like any type. Finding a coach you feel comfortable working with, someone you can trust and open up to in sessions, is essential.

Coaching can be helpful if you have specific goals and feel motivated to work toward those goals. For example, if you’re looking for help developing more self-awareness, improving self-confidence, and building resiliency, coaching can help. If you want to improve your communication skills, manage conflicts and build stronger relationships with loved ones, friends, and colleagues, create a life and work balance, or improve your emotional intelligence, coaching can help.

In the consultation conversation, I will be able to determine if I can help you. If I’m not the right person for you, I will help you find the right person.

Willingness to change is on you: Coaching requires an openness to change and the desire to take action to achieve your goals.

Availability and willingness to invest time and resources are required: Coaching typically involves regular sessions and requires a time and financial commitment.

The coach’s qualifications matter: Working with a certified and experienced coach is essential.

What should I expect from a coaching session?
I strive to create a warm, caring, and nonjudgmental space to freely explore various topics of your life. In every session, you should expect to be heard and understood. I also find it crucial for my clients to learn something essential about themselves and the situation of their life that will benefit the growth and transformation we seek. You should expect honesty, integrity, and professionalism from your coach.
How long does it take before I see results in my life?

Many of my clients experience a profound shift in their understanding and perspective within the first few sessions. This change occurs due to our work, and clients gain new clarity about the underlying dynamics shaping their experiences and interactions. I often describe this process as “turning on all the lights in your inner house.”

By illuminating previously unconscious beliefs, emotional patterns, and behaviors, my clients can see their issues more precisely and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. This newfound awareness and insight allows them to approach their challenges more confidently and effectively and fosters growth and learning in relationships with themselves and others.

What is the process of your coaching method?

We’ll kick off our coaching journey with a 90-minute intake conversation. This session is a crucial step in understanding your current situation and goals. During this time, we’ll discuss your thoughts and feelings about your challenges and explore any related issues. My goal is to support and guide you in developing the skills and perspective you need for long-term growth and self-awareness.

After the intake session, I’ll create a personalized development plan for our work together, and we’ll meet regularly to discuss progress and address any challenges that arise. My clients often find our initial 90-minute intake conversation incredibly valuable as it allows them to gain a new perspective on various aspects of their life with the guidance of an expert. We’ll delve into key areas such as communication and relationships, self-awareness and self-management, surroundings, and personal behavior.

One critical element that makes my coaching approach successful is using practical exercises and techniques. I will regularly provide you with new practices and mindfulness exercises to help integrate new skills and capabilities into your daily life. These practices will focus on self-awareness, communication, management, emotional intelligence, and various physical techniques to empower you on your journey toward autonomy and self-confidence.
